Cold Cold Cold in Washington
Well here I am in Seattle where they are going through record lows. Everyone had been telling me how much rain they get in December and to there surprise they are getting this cold. I am surviving this and when I got off work today I headed to Port Angeles but was only about 1 1/2 hours from where I was working. I got a hotel and will get up early in the cold and go to Crescent Lake with some hopes maybe get some pictures. From there will head over to Forks and visit a couple beaches (yes in cold weather) with hopes there will be some good sun and get some pictures there. I haven't decided if I will head back late that night or stay over and do something the next day. Good chance I will head back not really knowing what to expect with the weather. Hope to head to Mt. Rainier maybe Saturday or Sunday. Been staying busy trying to build another web site which is coming along but lots to do.

After Thanksgiving took a 3 day road trip

Well been traveling for the last 3 days about 650 miles probably total. Went with the idea of checking out lighthouses and just getting away from the hotel. Well away from one and check out a couple different hotels. Me I figure it just a bed and stay at the cheapest I can find and did pretty well. Well will try to write more of the trip over the next few days and weather was not bad taking some pictures in the rain and had cloud cover the whole trip. Here is some thing I found today driving around Port Angeles.

Working and not any Photography

Well haven't been out doing any photography since Elena has left but hope to. Since my plans of going home for a few days has changed to staying here in Seattle and working an extra day. Been raining most days so hasn't been that great for photography but I did go for a drive and picked up a pretty nice Rolleicord Va in pretty nice condition. Has a stuck shutter but for the price I picked it up I could afford to send it out and get it repaired and checked out. Looking forward to getting it back and doing some film with it sometime soon I hope. Here are a couple of pictures I took while Elena and I were out at Whidby Island. Hope to get some more up sometime soon since I will have lots of time but hope to get out and do some more.

The Day in Rainy Seattle

Well today the weather was much more like winter in Seattle as had rain most of the day. It was not a hard rain and was just on off but a lot more on but never really a hard rain. So today we spent the day in a light rainy Seattle but still able to do photography. The sky's are not going to be the greatest and just a dull gray but Washington does offer some of the greatest cloud formations I have ever seen but not today. So Elena is wrapping up her stay in Seattle and was really a great success as every minute we had was spent seeing as much as we could and doing photography. Weather was really great and cooperative for this time of the year and did not try to go see Mt Rainier as snow has hit some of the lower elevations and I don't think we could have went very far. Well for Elena's last day one more photo of hers will be displayed to enjoy and as you will see we did visit the Space Needle today.
Returned from weekend get away

Well we have returned from Whimbey Island and really was a good little get away. The B&B we stayed at was really wonderful and the things we did get to visit was very nice. As most places you never have as much time as you would like to have to do things but still very nice. We got back about 6 last night and little tired from the trip. Today rain in Seattle so we are probably going to go to Pikes Market and walk there a bit. Will leave with a picture from Elena and our breakfast table at the B&B.

Elena and I take off for the weekend

Well been having pretty good weather while Elena has been here actually some sunshine and not much rain. We took off for a couple days to go to Whimbey Island and got a early start and on the ferry by 6:30. It was raining and cold when we left the Seattle area and got on the ferry and when we got on the island the rain had really eased up. Before too long the sun was out and really a nice day except still really windy and cold. So we had a pretty good day of taking pictures and spending the night at the Anchorage Inn bed and breakfast and nice people who own it. Walked down the hill a block and had dinner in the towns busy bar it looked like that the locals seem to enjoy. Figured had to be good food it stayed packed all the time. Well will do some more photography tomorrow and will get back to my home hotel tomorrow evening sometime. Could write much more as we had great time but it also tires one very much so this is it. Well I did take lots of pictures but today we are putting on one of Elena's.

Snoqualmie Falls outside of Seattle

Well been pretty busy working the past couple days but did get a chance to run past the Snoqualmie Falls. Pretty nice falls and in pretty much a residential or business area but easy to get to for most people. There is a lower area that I did find but didn't really take any time to do any photography. The upper area has a viewing plat form that is out over the cliff and for me to do photography from it was a feat as my fear for heights is pretty good. While other people are standing there just looking over the edge I was busy shooting pictures. I did have the faith full Rolleicord III with me so hope got a few good black and whites while there. Will make it to the lower are sometime but will take Elena there when she gets here. Well here is a picture of the falls and have some shots on Flickr to check out so click over there also.

The day off and off to Mount Rainier

Well took off early this morning about 7 and visibility was not good to say the least. I was driving about 1/2 hour and began wondering if I should just call it off as I am thinking will never see the mountain. Then I thought well not doing anything else so just go for a drive. Then as I got closer to the mountain things started clearing off. Temperature was even getting to be pretty good and so up and away into the mountains. I just get into the park and here come 4 or 5 deer coming down the road so really a treat to see. Can't say I didn't get cold at times but just had sweatshirt on so could expect that. Was a great day in the mountains as they must have had snow just a week ago as snow piles were all around along the road. I took lots of film pictures but worry a bit about them as not real sure about the light but will see someday how they turned out hopefully a few good ones. I took the Rolleicord III and the Koni-Omega Rapid so hope for some good ones. Posted is a picture from today and I will hopefully get some more posted on Flickr so just click on that and check them out.

Beautiful cool sunny day in Seattle

Well I gad to decide what to do today and I decided to go down to the Pike Place Market down in Seattle. I did call and check on Mt. Rainier and see how weather was if could get there with out chains on the tires. Things were OK to go there snow still at higher elevations but I was little tired so chose staying closer and going into Seattle. I took lots of film pictures and some digital when I went on a drive down around the water. In all had a good day saw lots and like I said weather just wonderful. The picture I am posting well makes me wonder if I made the right decision on where I should have went today.

Old Omega Rapid Camera with 6x7 format

Well getting ready to head for Seattle early in the morning so kind of just taking it easy. Thought I would finally get a picture of the Omega Rapid that I got not too long ago. I shot it here in Huntington Beach a little bit but still the Rolleicord getting the bulk of the film being shot. I probably didn't really shoot as much as I should have while here probably more sunsets but maybe another time hopefully. I am putting a few shots I took with the Omega on the Flickr site to be viewed. They are shots I took around the house before I left for California to see how the camera was working to see I if I could take it along on the trip. Only a couple days off just had to shoot film then develop and see what I thought as stay or go. Well I did bring it along as you read above that I used some here. Maybe it will get more use in Settle and probably will shoot a couple of slide film with it just to see how it does. Check out the shots of the Omega at the Flickr site.

Windy and cool here in So Cal

Well haven't really been doing any photography this week pretty much just work and resting. Only be here a few more days before heading to Seattle so hope to get some evening shots in tomorrow and have Friday off and hope to do some local beach stuff then. Hope the weather settles a little been windy and just to windy for taking pictures. Posting a picture from last Sunday out driving around and it is at Luguna Beach some miles down the road from Huntington. Hope to have some more new stuff soon and really looking forward to the cold in Seattle but should be some really good photo shoots

Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive

Well went into Beverly Hills today and stopped down on Rodeo Drive and walked around a bit. Not much really there and I wish I had walked around a bit farther out and seen some of the sights of Beverly Hills but know a little more if I ever make it back I will know what to do. After that went to Freestyle Photo shop and picked up some film and this is a really nice place wish had one of these around home. Then since this was in Hollywood drove around a bit and down Hollywood Blvd but so many people I didn't stop any place to take pictures so bottom line didn't really take to many today. I will include one that I did take and this is about the only digital picture I took. I am going to guess everyone should recognize it.

Went to the Mountains and Big Bear Lake

Took off work a little early and went to the mountains and Big Bear Lake. Took some pictures and drove around a bit and drove through Apple Valley on the way home. Had little more energy today so must be coming around from the time change. Went to the beach when I got back just as the sun was setting and took some pictures there. I will post a couple pictures from the beach and maybe get around to some mountain pictures later on.
Can't really decide what I am going to do tomorrow probably go to the beach early and shoot some pictures then thinking just thinking maybe go into Beverly Hills and shoot some pictures on Rodeo Drive. Well guess I will decide tomorrow who knows might get tired from this energy today and have to take a nap.

Jet Lag and time change how long?

Well been in LA for 4 days and when it gets to be 6 I am ready for bed and tired before that time even but have not problem getting up at 6. Well hopefully I get some energy here before to long and get some pictures before I leave. Hoping to get off a little early Friday and maybe take some and might try to in the morning on the way to work.
Well any way I am putting a picture up that was taken in New York in the park the weekend before I left. I did manage to develop a few rolls the few days I was home and this was taken using a older Yashica Mat with the Yashinon lens. The film was TMax 100 and was developed in TMax developer. Doesn't the dog remind you of the dog in Men in Black II with the way he is sitting so nicely. Right after the shot I got just a little close and he was all excited hoping for some petting and so he got it.

California surf boards, hot rods and choppers
Well some things never change over the years and still surfers and hot rods of all kinds and choppers you just don't see everywhere. No sunshine but still out surfing in the cool weather. The trip across the U.S. was nice you could see the earth all the way the different terrain the mountains were wonder full. Coming into to L.A. of coarse getting lower with mountains all around and just wonderful view and ahead you see thick cloud cover and yes this is L.A. Well staying right on the ocean just a walk across Pacific Coast Blvd and at the beach. I am going to rest a bit then might go and maybe take some pictures but it is so over cast I don't know but first a little rest.

Home sweet home short stay
Well I made it home and before I made it home I said I would go to Seattle, Washington November 1 and return on the 24th. Then on the way home from the airport I get a phone call and ask if I could go to L.A. the 18th and be home by the weekend for a little weeks vacation before going to Washington. OK I am going to L.A. and leaving first thing in the morning and now going to work 2 weeks there and then go to Washington from there. Just didn't seem like a good idea to fly out, back and then out again then back so best to just stay out.
I did get to see a new camera while I was home and shot a couple quick rolls to make sure everything was ok. It seems to be and will be making the trip with me and will be leaving the Bronica home for this trip. So this trip will be going with the Canon 30D and with the good old Rolleicord III that is always great and final one making the trip first time out will be the Omega Rapid with 90mm and 60mm lens.
Well check the Flickr and see the new additions and check back and see what is up this trip out west. Should be fun great weather of California and the great weather of Washington.

Heading Home feels Little Strange
Well the work here in NY has finally come to an end for me. After living in a hotel for the most of the year and not being home for almost 6 months it really feels kind of strange finally going home. It is going to be nice to finally be home and get some film work done. I have so much built up will take a long time to get what I would like done. Then I would like to get out and take some pictures around Florida also but will get it done someday. I also have some cameras laying around that I have never seen that I hope to work on and get a chance to shoot some pictures with. Well lots of things to do it will be nice to finally get home for awhile. Will keep posted and try to show some pictures of what I am up to. Don't forget to click over on the Flickr pics have been adding some new photos over there.

Lazy over the Weekend

Well didn't really do to much over the weekend it was to be rainy and lousy Saturday so just stayed in. Sunday got little lazier and really didn't feel like going out but thought I should. So the should won out and went to Brooklyn just across the bridge from Staten Island into Brooklyn. I always liked this area when I passed by going to other job sites. This is where I had planned on going so went there and spent like 3 hours walking around. This is a spot where ships anchor and wait to go into port I guess. I think the just go down a little ways to a port off Staten Island but not really sure just looks like maybe this would be it. Took some pictures of the bridge and a few others nothing really great and shot some film using the Rolleicord and a Omega 100 I just got to give a try. Here is a picture of one of the ships I always like seeing these big boats.

Working in New Jersey lately and getting cold

Well not much going on lately just work and that being in Jersey these days. Today being Friday I did go to Brooklyn to work and coming out of the bank around 3pm give or take a little thinking of what I might have for supper tonight. Walking to the subway I passed by a big hot dog place and WOW they really smelled good. A little early to be eating dinner but I knew then what I would be eating for dinner. The thing is I only know one place that has hot dogs so about 6:30 I jump in the car and head for the little place to enjoy a hot dot. I have to go right through downtown Newark and now traffic was really bad there and took forever but finally made it to my hot dog stand ordered me up 3 cheese dogs and a large root beer and happy as could be.
Well I have included and picture of one of NYC's finest and have a number pictures of them but this is the one available right now thanks to Elena for scanning and getting the pictures to me. Don't forget you can click on the pictures to make larger!!

Sunday and raining and little cool

Well did go into the city and pick up the film I stopped off yesterday. Some pretty good shots in them but not sure about some I took yesterday and I am hoping the are OK. I will get them sent home for Elena to check out and scan them for me and then I can post them here and on Flickr. Like I said it is rather cool and rainy day not hard just enough to make for a lousy day. So I looked though some photos and found one of Elena I will post. You might have already seen it if you look through the Flickr pics but anyway posting here today. This was taken down at Wall Street and I am sure you can recognize who is with Elena. This picture taken with my TLR Rolleicord III medium format film camera and scanned by Elena. Don't forget you can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Into the City for first time in a few weeks
Well seems like a long time since I have been to Manhattan and probably has been 2 or 3 weeks. I worked today but was able to go the city later in the afternoon and finally got to stop off 11 rolls of film. Then walked around a bit in the Flatiron district and the park and shot 3 rolls of film so dropped those off before I headed home. I will have to say that New York City really didn't have much of a summer and never got all that hot. Today you feel fall in the air it was really a little chilly out and I even had a little coat on and I never wear a coat. It will probably be a early winter and snow a lot before I make it home but in some ways would like to see some snow and maybe be able to photograph some winter. Well that might or might not happen and I am sure it is much better when I include some pictures but today I didn't take the time to find a picture. Maybe tomorrow.......

Brooklyn Bridge and Sailboat

Getting ready for work this morning and had a few minutes as I don't have to be at work till 10 so putting some pictures on Flickr. The pictures I was adding are photos that were taken some time back but Elena has them at home and scanned and sent them to me to add to Flickr. This particular one I really like of a sailboat passing under the Brooklyn Bridge. It is a medium format 6x6 shot taken with the Bronica SQA not really sure what lens I used for this but very possible the 200mm. It has been cropped from the original 6x6 to add to the balance of the photo. Added some more to Flickr so click on the link on the side and stop over there.

Seeing more of Long Island

I went out to the north eastern end of Long Island on Saturday and this is where some of the vineyards are. There are probably more in this area than any other part of Long Island. Being at the most eastern part you will need a lighthouse and there is one there. It is located out a little from the rock area to keep boats of the rocks. From here you can see many islands and Connecticut. There are ferry ships that will take you there and thought about going but thought would take to much time. I have posted a couple pictures one of the vineyards and one of the lighthouse which isn't all that great but was the closest I could get. I used the Bronica for black and white film pictures using the 200mm lens and in hopes that the lighthouse will turn out well on film. I don't know why I didn't take more digital pictures of the lighthouse but did take more film.

Lighthouse on Fire Island

Well had a little time to see a few sites here on Long Island even with working lots of hours. I was able to make it down to Fire Island to visit the Lighthouse that is there. The Rolleicord was used for some black and white film shots and hope to get them to Manhattan and get them developed maybe next weekend. Since won't be working in Manhattan for awhile so will take some time to get them developed. Looking forward to seeing how they turned out and will get them off to Elena to get some scans. Well here is one shot of the Fire Island Lighthouse maybe have some time to get some more on sometime soon. I have been adding some photos to the Flickr site so click over there and check them out.

Busy on Long Island

Been pretty busy week out here on Long Island but staying out here really helps. Would be almost 2 hours or more to drive to the jobs from where I was staying but here from 15 minutes to 45 minutes so much better than the 2 hours plus. Have had a little time and still adding pictures to the Flickr site from some film pictures Elena is scanning and then sending me so I can put them up. Today will put a film shot on of Elena when she was here in August. This is taken with the old Rolleicord III and was using Kodak TMax 100.

Visiting The End Montauk Point

Well I went back to the lighthouse on Sunday and walked around. There were lots of fisherman and boaters out for the stripper run. The guys that fish from shore really have it rough. They have to walk over and around big rocks and very little sand to walk on. It would be really easy to twist an ankle or knee but they carry all there gear to there place to fish. Today I will post another lighthouse picture and a little guy along the beach. I will be posting more on the Flickr site and just click on it to visit there. Been adding some film pictures which I am behind in doing but maybe I can get some more of those on the next few days. These were mostly taken with the Rolleicord and the Bronica. Some of the color pictures were taken on slide film. Will try to keep up some more and post some more picture

The Montauk point Lighthouse

If you drive as far as you can drive on the southern route on 27 you will run right into the lighthouse. This lighthouse first one built in New York and constructed in 1796 ordered built by the 1st President George Washington. This is the end of the road as you have now reached the Atlantic Ocean. This spot on the Atlantic has a long history from the Indians to the Revolution war when the British held this spot. I was able to take a few pictures and there were lots of boats and shore fisherman. I read a book a few years ago about fishing up in this area and I am going to guess the strippers are running and that is what they are fishing for. This is a very nice and great place for some photography and will share a few of the pictures over the next few days.
The guys fishing wear metal cleats on there shoes for this rock fishing. Then you have the ones wading and I am sure that is a little cold and even with there waders.

August Where has it Gone?

Well I guess mostly from being lazy that I have not posted on my blog since August 1st. Elena did come for about 10 days and that was a nice change and be able top do some things with her. When she does come I know I am going to be worn out as she wants to get in as much photography as possible and we did try but with heat not the same when a little cooler still took lots of pictures. Then also been working some long hours and having to drive some places and that wears on me to where I have no energy to do too much. The good news is Elena has most of my negatives at home and will scan some of them and send them to me so so I can post some. Today I am just taking a break after working 6 days and doing laundry and posting some pictures Elena has sent me. Long week next week in Brooklyn and will have no time. The picture I will have on Blog today is of Elena when she was here and you can see she was ready for some photography.

9-11 Memorial at Exchange Place

I gave the strategic location of Exchange Place in the previous blog so will just pretty much add pictures for this one. The steel girders are actually from the Twin Towers and are used for this memorial. As you can see there are then individual memorials dedicated to individuals and to all created around the girders.

Exchange Place Memorial to 9-11

When taking the Path train from Newark Penn Station to the World Trade Center the last stop in Jersey before going under the river to New York is Exchange Place. This is a small town and I believe Colgate is head quartered here so there are many high rise office building big hotel and just a lot of activity. This is also right across the river from where the Twin Towers were so you can imagine the frightful day they had on 9-11. Here is one small little memorial that is at Exchange Place that pretty much says it all. I have another memorial from here I will put on later hopefully tomorrow and maybe yet today.

9/11 Memorial at Peninsula at Byonne Harbor

This is one of my favorite photos as it almost looks as the flag is covering the teardrop and you can see the reflection of the park below.
Though not well known in the United States, Zurab Tsereteli is renowned for his work in Russia and while I was in Russia I was able to see one of his latest creations there which I believe is on the Volga River but I could be wrong on which river it is on. He reportedly spent $12 million of his own money to complete the Bayonne Harbor monument and the park.
The placement of the monument is fitting to be in this location as this is where many of the survivors were brought by boats to safety that day of 9/11.
The placement of the monument is fitting to be in this location as this is where many of the survivors were brought by boats to safety that day of 9/11.
Teardrop Memorial In Rememberance of Love Ones
The monument comprises a 100-foot-tall bronze tower with a jagged split down the middle and a 40-foot-long stainless steel teardrop suspended in the gap. It stands on an 11-sided slab of black marble carved with the names of every person who died in the September 11 attack World Trade Center, Pentagon and Pennsylvania as well as the victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The Statue of Liberty is in line with the monument but for our viewing the Statue of Liberty is in a distant view. The brightly lit memorial is visible even at night from the Statue of Liberty, Battery Park, the Staten Island Ferry, and other locations around the Hudson River. You can see the engraved pavers that surround the edge of the walkway as donations are made to the park and placed by loved ones and people that just want 911 to never be forgotten.Friday, July 24, 2009
"To Struggle Against World Terrorism" Zurab Tsereteli

The next few days will be showing some photos of the September 11, 2001 Memorial donated to the U.S. by Russian Artist Zurab Tser
eteli, President of Russia and the people of Russia. Zurab has works of art all over the world and in New York at the United Nations. The memorial is 100 feet tall and is located on the Peninsula at Bajonne Harbor. The memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2006 in a ceremony attended by former President Bill Clinton.I will try to give more information to it's design over the next few days with other photos.

Michael Jackson July 7th at Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York

I am finally getting some more pictures that I can put on blog and Flickr site. The crowd photo is where they had the big theatre type screen they had put up inside a bubble tent for them to view the funeral going ons. After that they showed MJ videos and concert shots all day long so there was dancing and singing for everyone. The other photos are from the Apollo Theatre and maybe for some that do not know the connection with the Apollo. In the I believe late 60's the Jackson 5 enter a talent contest at the Apollo and won this contest. Today at the Apollo every Wednesday night they still hold this same talent contest.

Halem on July 7th
Well probably most saw Harlem on the news of the Michael Jackson memorial. They had it in the park on 125th and had it on big screen. All the TV people were there and on the street getting interviews and I was there and got a few pictures and hope to have some up maybe Thursday sometime. So much stuff for sale from umbrellas, buttons, pictures, cd's and about anything else Michael Jackson you might want. They have new white plastic up on the signing wall at least what I call it and people still signing. Look for some more photos to come.

Michael Jackson at the Apollo in Harlem

Here are a couple pictures from Monday up at the Apollo in Harlem. All the people gathering and signing the wall and t-shirts for sale everywhere. It was young and old all races from all countries that had come to Harlem for this occasion. I will post a few pictures here and I have maybe 4 more or so that will be on my Flickr site so might check it. Have a few others that I have not be able to get scanned and will be posted someday down the road.

Exciting Day
Well for most this would not be too exciting but for me makes my day. Since I have found out I will be here a while longer I thought it would be nice to have a refrigerator. I looked at them and found one I could buy for 60 some dollars and thought could ship home later. Then the more I thought about it and the money the hotel is getting from me they should give me a frig. Today all that come true guess they thought I deserved one with all the money they are getting from me. Had a knock on the door and said I would be getting my frig and a few minutes later I had one. Now need to get somewhere and get some stuff to put in it. Probably will take a few trips coming back from the city to get what I want and find what I want. Anyway about all the excitement I have for one day.

Michael Jackson in Harlem
I was in Harlem today and the signing the wall and mourning and making money continues in Harlem in front of the Apollo Theatre. Starting on the 31st the Apollo will be running a tribute to Michael and 900 seat theatre and I think 2 shows a day for 2 days should be some of the best money made at the Apollo. It is something sounds like Michael died a broke man and there is going to be lots and lots of people making money from his death for some time to come.
It will seem lots of people mourning the death of a great musician and entertainer with lots it will seem to celebrate his death. I was not in New York when John Lennon was shot but I am sure the same kind of thing went on. Oh well shouldn't surprise I am sure it will go on long after Michael and until the next one passes.

I was not in New York when John Lennon was shot but I am sure the same kind of thing went on. Oh well shouldn't surprise I am sure it will go on long after Michael and until the next one passes.

New York, New York
Well when the weather warms in New York City there is always something going on anytime and any day. New York has been working overtime the last few days with the passing of Michael Jackson. I happened to be in Harlem by the Apollo Theatre that has been famous over the years. You might have seen on the news this was a very big gathering to mourn the death of Michael. It is a shame that again we see such a talent pass on much to young. Listening to the doctors and such on TV it is a tragedy like all the ones before him that should not have happened.
Has been a busy week for the stars also having Farrah and Ed passing also. God bless them all and thank you for all you have given to us your fans.

Film Count
Well I don't start work today till later so took time to cut and put away the Rolleicord film I had picked up. While I had then out I gave a quick count and since first of May have shot 24 rolls with the Bronica SQ, 5 rolls with the Yashica Mat (which I have sent home) and just the 1 roll from the Rolleicord which was sent to use for awhile in place of the Yashica Mat. Actually might sound like a lot of film but during this time I really have not shot any digital and stayed in several days so probably should have shot at least 20 rolls more or taken the digital out some. Having the Rolleicord I will probably some days take film and digital out. The thing is after hauling a heavy bag around working all week I look forward to having something light and that is all. There is where the Rolleicord comes in small and light.

Rolleicord Negatives
Well just picked up the negatives from my first roll I took with the Rolleicord. Actually they don't look to bad looking through the loupe but I don't think great. I think the camera did just fine and me so so. I took the pictures in Grand Central Station so that was a change right there being inside. I shot TMax 400 film and also shot at 400 knowing I would get people movement but that I was looking for. So bottom line some pictures are pretty good and some are ok but I plan on shooting some this weekend as my work schedule keeping pretty tired. Should have had my camera today and I know you say should always but I was looking for one day not carrying around a lot of stuff and did some shopping so brought a lot of stuff back. Anyway in the city they were protesting if I understood right the killing of bulls in bull fights. I am not sure how they dreamed this up but do we even have bull fights in the U.S.? Is this one of those things where they might be preaching to the wrong crowd but anyway would have made a nice picture all these people laying on the ground with red paint on them and pretty much naked women had tape on there ... but then again not real sure of there point here in NYC.

Sunday and Should be Shooting the Rolleicord
Like the title said I should be but I am not since I kind of listened to the weather forecast. The day has turned into a really nice day and some great cloud cover but so far I haven't seen any rain. I would have really liked to went to the city and picked up my Saturday film but I will certainly get it Monday if it isn't really bad weather. I will also be taking the Rolleicord to work with me and hope to get some time in with it also. That is one of the really nice things of a TLR they are small and easy to carry around when you also have other things to carry with you. I have the Bronica SQ and the Canon 30D with me but they take considerable more effort to carry around and are not good cameras to take around to work with me. Time to check back into the golf open and see what is going on.

Rolleicord Weekend

Well little bit of a wet weekend and if you been watching any of the Open being held here at Long Island you have seen the weather report. Elena sent me a new camera well and old new camera a Rolleicord that I am gong to use for awhile. I did take the Rollei to the city this morning and went to Grand Central Station to mess around a little bit inside and took a roll of film but not sure how well they are going to turn out being inside and then getting used to the new camera was some new things to remember like no double exposure setting to keep you from a double exposure or more. I am getting to old to remember every time so trust me I did have a couple double exposures and I was wanting to try some but with the shots I wanted and so don't have any of those yet. Oh well it is all in the fun of shooting different camera and film. Hope to make it out tomorrow maybe for a couple hours will see in the morning. Do have a picture of the Rolleicord that I am using for awhile.

This Week
Didn't do a whole lot over the weekend had lots of time to take pictures but with some rain in the forecast didn't really go out to much. I did shoot a couple rolls Saturday but that was about it. Worked Monday on a small job and then today off so went to Yankee Stadium which unless you take the tour there isn't much to take pictures of. I do think if I have more days off I will go back and take the tour so I can get some good pictures. Took a few pictures of the Intrepid down at 12th and 43rd and that is a big ship. Elena is sending me the Rolleicord so looking forward to getting that and taking some pictures and that might be my Yankee Stadium camera if I go back. That and will take the Canon 30D along and use both. Will look for some more pictures from past to post sometime and I do have lots of new but won't be able to post till get home and scan. Maybe I will add a shot of the Rollei that I will be shooting.

Lazing Around

Wow here it is June 11th and last time writing was June 4th but really not much going on since then. I went out last weekend one day to take some pictures with the Yashica Mat TLR and it decided to act up. There fore no picture taking that day and I just relaxed that Sunday rest up for work. I will be off Friday and my plans are to take the Bronica to Coney Island and do some picture taking. Going to be a pretty good road trip as it will take about 1 1/2 hours just by subway to get there. Let you know more I hope about Coney Island maybe on Saturday might need that to rest up.
Leaving with a picture here taken one morning as the train arrived at the train station.

Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is really a pretty neat place and has a lot going on. I have been there 2 or 3 times and really enjoy walking around and seeing all there is to see. I have some pictures of there but they are all in black and white film and have not been able to scan them yet. The architecture here is really nice and and just really nice to walk around and look at. I had thought wow if I lived in NYC this would be the place to live very quiet and nice. The first time I was there there was some police tape put up in several different place and just figured something going on the day I was there. When I was by one of the places I asked a lady what they were up for and this is what she said. This one there was a stabbing last night and I said OK what about the other? That one a couple days ago there had been a gay hate crime and the guy was killed. Well still nice place to visit during the day but don't think I would want to live there.
Wanted to have a picture today so just a Brooklyn Bridge shot and that thing is old!

All Work

Well come down this week to all work and not picture taking. Had two 5am starts and so up at 2 and ready to get on the move to get to work. Long and tiring work and finishing up today Saturday and little tired so don't know if I will do anything even on Sunday but I might a little while. It is cloths washing day so that is always a fun event. Including a picture today taken off the Brooklyn Bridge when Elena was here and so one of the few digital pictures I have taken the last month. I like this picture and with the street light and then right at the top of the car windshield and convertible.

New York and Minolta Autocord
Still in New York working and been a rough week getting up real early. Haven't been putting on any pictures lately as still have not been taking many digital pictures. I do and will be putting some black and white pictures taken with the Minolta Autocord taken this past April. I did take a few digital pictures a week ago or so and might get a few of those on. Soon as I get some rest I will work on showing some picture.

New York Weekend

Well been little lazy and not keeping up on the blog. Guess part of the reason is I haven't been taking any pictures with the digital so feel I have not pictures to share. I have been busy taking pictures and have taken lots but all with shooting film. So I decided today to at least put up a picture which isn't the best but at least show the camera I am using for the film. Right now I am shooting a Bronica medium format using 65mm and 200mm PS lens. From what I have looked at so far the shots don't look to bad maybe a few not good but will see sometime when I get home. So here is my not so good picture with good old hotel curtains for background. Will try to get some digital shots to share sometime soon.

Being back in New York and took some pictures all with the Bronica black and white film so don't have anything new to post. Work is off and on so will get some more picture taking in when off which looks like will be Weds. and probably Friday. Not making tons of money with only 30 hours a week so need to make it pay in getting pictures.
Well enough for now and maybe sometime I will get some new digital pictures to post.

Wet Week

Well I don't know if it has stopped raining since I got her Sunday. What that means been kind of boring haven't been able to take any cameras out. I might take one with me to work Weds. have a 3 hour job and it might stop raining in the afternoon. So that means might take a couple pictures if I find something and maybe stop by the camera place and get some film and stuff that I wanted to pick up. OK got bored not being able to take any pictures so have one of me in the hotel I just took. I know would have been better something in the city.
